Las Freiras Comendadoras de Sacti-Spiritus

They lived in a convent next to the church of Sancti Spíritus, but unlike other convents, only women of the nobility could enter this one. Furthermore, there was no enclosure, so they could go out into the street and receive visitors. King Alfonso X “The Wise” granted them the title of Commanderesses in 1268.
