Sor Teresa Chikaba “La Negrita” “La Negrita” (1676-1748) She was a princess called Chikaba who was kidnapped and brought from Africa as an exotic gift for King Charles II. He gave her as a gift to the Marquis of Mancera, who granted her freedom. In 1704 she entered the Penitencia convent as a servant and became famous for having the gift of prophecy and for performing miracles. She was the first black woman in Spain to enter a cloistered convent.
