María del Rosario López Piñuelas
María del Rosario López Piñuelas (Salamanca, 28 October 1943) is a Spanish actress who, as a student of Philosophy and Literature, participated in several plays. She later studied at the Escuela Oficial de Cine (Official Film School). She worked in theatre and television, notably in the series Los camioneros, by Mario Camus; El pícaro, by Fernando Fernán Gómez; Entre visillos, by Miguel Picazo; Fortunata y Jacinta, by Mario Camus; Los gozos y las sombras, by Rafael Moreno Alba; Los pazos de Ulloa, by Gonzalo Suárez, and Un día volveré, by Paco Betriú. She received the Goya Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1997 for Secretos del corazón. She was awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts in 2008. In 2021, the director Chema de la Peña made a documentary film entitled Me cuesta hablar de mí; this film presents a journey about the actress from her childhood to the present day, with testimonies of López at different stages of her life.
