Dolores Cebrián Fernández Villegas

Dolores Cebrián Fernández Villegas (1881-1973). She was born in Salamanca and was the daughter of a military man from Salamanca, a doctor and university professor. She studied to be a teacher and later became a teacher in Salamanca, a post she later resigned to become a professor of science in Toledo. She moved to Paris to study biology at the Soborna and, on her return, took up a teaching post at the Institución Libre de Enseñanza in Madrid, a modern school where young people were taught who would take their innovative teacher as a model. Miguel Unamuno (1864-1936), a great friend of the Cebrián family, referred to Dolores as having “the head of a man”.
