Zena Palace is one of the first cinemas that existed in Cyprus, located in the center of Nicosia. It took its name from its owner, Princess Zena Kanther De Tyras, who was born in Tala, Paphos, on July 3, 1927, in a poor family. In 1967, Zena Kanther, after being spiritually adopted by Prince Paul Palaiologos-Krive, acquired a noble title, and became “Princess de Tyras.” Since then, along with the enormous wealth she gained from her marriage to the American millionaire Christian Kanther, Zena Kanther has been actively involved in significant philanthropic activities. She is the most prominent Cypriot philanthropist and benefactor of Cyprus, who also volunteered in the liberation struggle against the British.
