Teodora Peykova (1892-1972) was a writer, editor, and socialite, she founded the lady’s magazine “Economy and household”, which was published for 25 years. Through the magazine Teodora spread European taste and ideas throughout the country and used it to educate women about different social issues or inventions made by other women, to offer recipes and medical advice, weight-loss diets, press review, family advice, child-rearing advice, fashion, historical events, gymnastics, reports from Paris and other cities, advertisements, courses on sewing, embroideries, needlework, etc. She also became the first Bulgarian woman who taught herself how to drive her husband’s car.
